It took a few months of diligent planning, booking (accommodation, flights), organising life and work, getting rid of most of my possessions…now the time has finally come. I’ve packed my one suitcase and departed for the sunnier days. The climate is the main reason for the change of scenery however I have always been attracted by Spanish culture. Not entirely sure why, to be perfectly honest. Maybe it was that first salsa class years ago that I went to as my friends wing woman because she received couple of free tickets. It got me hooked for a few years, that’s true, and the music was the reason I first signed up to Spanish classes. I only lasted a few weeks, despite being used to late night dancing, late night brain exercises weren’t quite working out for me.
Forward a few years, who would have thought I’d be considering moving to Spain. First it has to be tested, is that something I would actually like? I’ve started Spanish classes again, assuming knowing two languages already will help me out a little…maybe it does, nevertheless learning a new language is hard, and in certain parts of Spain no English is spoken, like NONE. It’s great for practicing some conversation, not so great for making friends but who knows.
The next few months will be about exploring, learning, experiencing and enjoying Spain and Spanish culture. Based in the beautiful Cádiz for the first month, that we spent last April in, and fell in love with. We’ve also planned a few weekends away to explore other corners of Andalusia. After Cádiz we have two more Spanish destinations to look forward to. I’ll do my best to take you on the journey with me 🙂 I am beyond excited for this adventure!
